My fondest desire has been to open up a sandcastle school where my guests can enjoy spacious and comfortable accommodations while learning the joys of sandsculpting. The SandBox is the realization of that dream!
New in 2010: Starting in June, I will be offering regularly-scheduled lessons in the sandbox and at beach access #16 for $20 per person and $5 per child. Stay tuned for details.
The SandBox is a great place to stay when you are visiting South Padre Island -- but it is also what may be the world's first - and only - Sandcastle Academy.
Your hostess - sandy feet - is a master sand sculptor with over 20 years experience in sandcastle building instruction working with all sizes of groups and all levels of experience. (Sandcastle Lesson Information)

Introduction to softpack and handstacking. We will build towers and walls and then carve windows, doors, bricks and rocks, stairs and tunnels with common tools.
Includes a free 20-page booklet on building better sandcastles plus access to all the tools for the duration of your stay. We will work together to build a beautiful sculpture (castle, snowman, fireplace - almost anything you can imagine!) with your family's name and/or greeting carved right into the sculpture.
I'll guard it while you run back to the 'Box and change into your holiday finery, then I'll shoot a bunch of pictures for you using your camera. Note: Here is my travel calendar - no lessons available on these dates. Weather can also be a factor though the main sandbox is mostly protected form strong north winds and can often be utilized when the beach can't be.
