Do You Need a Bunch of Dental Work Done? No Insurance to Pay For It?

Then read on...

My chompers served me faithfully for decades, not demanding much in the way of care. I was spoiled, I took them for granted! I ate too much sweet stuff and I didn't brush or floss as often as I should have. And now I am paying the price....

Lucky for me, I live just 30 miles from the Mexican border and have access to American style dental care for about a third of what it would cost me in the US.

I have been going to the same dental clinic in Matamoros since 2006, where I have had numerous fillings and a root canal performed. I have been very happy with the work that has been done and I have saved thousands of dollars.

So can you! The amount you could save on just one procedure might very well pay for your stay at the SandBox. If you so desire, I will make the appointment for you. I will drive you to the bridge and walk across with you. And then I will join you for lunch and shopping at Garcia's afterward. Yes, a trip to the dentist with sandy feet can be fun!

The big question on everyone's mind is of course this:

Is it Safe?

I can't guarantee your safety in Mexico any more than I can guarantee you won't get run over next time you cross a street. But I can tell you that I cross that border - often without a companion - 10-15 times a year, and I have never once felt threatened in any way. (Note: I am a diminuative, middle-aged gringa. I don't scare anyone -- not even my dogs.) So yes, I believe it is safe.

The clinic itself is 3 blocks from the bridge, in the safest part of the city. It is spotless and could easily be mistaken for one of its US counterparts. The dentist is an American citizen who commutes from Brownsville. She is incredibly gentle and stands behind her work. She is in fact the best dentist I have ever gone to.

Curious? Interested? Email me and I will answer all of your questions to the best of my ability.

A trip to the dentist can be FUN! Garcias has a great bar, restaurant, fabulous shopping opportunities, cheap bottles and a pharmacy all in one spot.
